Youth Climate Change Conference Goal

The Youth Climate Change Conference (‘YC3) is a youth-lead initiative, focused on action, alternatives, and solutions for a changing world: We are bringing together experts with young leaders, for a call to action creating long lasting positive effects. YC3 will give youth the skills, support structure, and empowerment to lead the challenge of climate change. YC3 is taking a original holistic approach, focusing on root causes and strategies for concrete steps towards a sustainable society.

YC3 Objectives

  • To give youth the knowledge of the root causes of climate change, in a holistic view;
  • To challenge youth to rethink how society operates, searching for sustainable alternatives;
  • To give youth a broad support structure and an extensive tool kit to apply to their personal and collective action plans;
  • To create an active network of Canadian youth to support effective youth action after the YC3 event.

YC3 Overview

This conference will give youth the knowledge, contacts, and skills to make their actions count, in order to re-work the society we have inherited into a sustainable future. This will be done through:

  • Inspirational Keynotes and Workshops: Systemic solutions to climate change will incorporate environmental, social, and economic aspects. Workshops will relate climate change to science, politics, economics, social justice, technology, media, communications, and eco literacy;
  • Dynamic Action Sessions: Climate Change Youth Action projects will be developed throughout YC3 through a powerful support network of workshop leaders and supporting youth organizations focused on coalition building, fundraising, and action planning;
  • Innovative Website participation: YC3s interactive website will allow youth participants and educators to participate and learn from YC3s pre and post events, as well as YC3 workshops, keynotes, and action ideas;
  • Resource Fair: Delegates will be invited to learn from, share ideas, and network with a variety of organizations and companies displaying their projects and work. Space available for participating sponsors. Career options and scholarships will be highlighted, and the opportunity for youth delegates to display projects and share ideas.
